Extra- Galactic Nebulosity in Galaxy M33

We’re doing a run of just 100 prints of M33 aka the Triangulum Galaxy. Each one will arrive at your door with a certificate of authenticity and a brief explanation of why this image is so special. Postage is FREE to USA, Europe and UK and there are no additional taxes to pay. Other destinations may incur a customs charge (like Canada). Delivery time to most places in the world is around 10 days with USA, Europe and UK normally being a bit quicker (although delivery might be longer around Christmas). If you have any questions please email me directly on [email protected]

I’ve chosen to print the image on Giclée Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper which is considerably more expensive than regular paper but I think its worth it because the whites are whiter, the darks are darker and critically there are no reflections. There are 3 sizes to choose from each designed to fit into a common A1, A2 or A3 frame with a pleasing white border. Please note the frame is not included.

This is image was taken 2500m above sea level on the side of the giant volcano that is Tenerife using my home built 8 inch telescope ‘Betty’. The air up there is phenomenally calm and this makes it possible to shoot extremely sharp images of galaxies that are 3 million light years away like this one!. Whilst the giant observatory I set up next to was slightly sharper than Betty, Betty was able to bag the whole of the galaxy in colour thanks to her wider field of view. So in my unbiased opinion Betty is much better than those multi million dollar professional telescopes! Honestly I don’t know why they bother🤣 You can watch the video below to find out how I did it...

M33 is our galactic next-door neighbour. Its 3 million light years from us and only ¾ of a million light years from the monstrous Andromeda galaxy. Both these galaxies are flying towards us at 63miles per second and M33 is kind of like Andromeda’s wing man. M33 is an unusual galaxy as there’s talk amongst the professionals that it might be missing a supermassive black hole in its core and there may be something strange about the density of dark matter (if the stuff exists!) around this galaxy. Dark matter has an impact on star formation and this may be why M33’s spiral arms are blossoming like a cherry tree in spring with nebula and young, massive, blue stars. Here are some of the extra-galactic nebula around the Galaxy.

This is the sharpest deep space image I have taken and I think it’s a bit of a coup to have bagged this level of detail with an 8 inch scope. The key of course was the location. Proceeds from this print will go towards sending my back to the Canaries. Thanking you kindly.
